Thank you for this

Thank you for this documentary film. My son was diagnosed with Lymes 6 years ago and it has manifested into chronicity as Neuro Borreliosis Lymes with all the classic symptoms as described by the Lymes experts. My son was a productive registered nurse who spent the 20 years, pre-illness, working as a compassionate ER, trauma & flight registered nurse always making a good living, and now he has been reduced to a miserable suffering soul who is in the throes of becoming homeless. He has somewhat disconnected from us, his family, because of his shame for having had to accept our monetary help for the past several years. He has exhausted every penny of his savings and we are now living on a fixed income. Through the years, after being fired (for inability to function), losing his employer's insurance coverage & then expiration of COBRA coverage and 4 unsuccessful attempts to return to the workplace, he has now been denied SS Disability because they claim he can work because he can "think" even though many days he can't get out of bed. The next step for SSDI appeal is an attorney but they all say he has to be under the care of an MD who will substantiate his inability to work. He has no money and no insurance & therefore cannot seek the medical help he needs. He may be able to get Medi-cal but the MDs that accept Medi-cal are certainly not the cream of the crop nor are they going to be Lyme literate and even if they were, the State is certainly not going to be willing to pay for any sort of long-term therapy. I have been his advocate and the one pursuing every avenue of help for him but I am now unable to figure out what to do next. He wishes he had cancer instead of Lymes so someone would care! If anyone has any answers, I will listen.
Thanks for listening.......Todd's Mom.
