Valentine’s Day is special, and so it’s only appropriate that island businesses would run specials to celebrate it. If you’re looking for a cheat sheet for cheap(ish) Valentine’s dates on-island you’ve come to the right place.
It Takes Two
David Ryan’s is running a two for one special on all dinner entrees this Valentine’s Day. In fact, the idea has made them feel so lovey-dovey that they’re continuing the deal every Friday and Saturday for the rest of the off-season.
Breakfast in Bed?
With 20% off all rooms at The Mansion House February 14th and 15th, even year-round Vineyard residents should consider checking in for the night. Some rooms offer fireplaces, balconies, plasma TVs, and/or soaking tubs. A $199 Spa Sampler with a massage, manicure, and facial also makes for a well-priced relaxing, restorative gift.
Black, White, and Read All Over MV
Speaking of the Mansion House, there’s a chance you might win a free dinner for two at the hotel’s restaurant Zephrus if you send your Valentine a message in the MV Times next week. The newspaper Valentine will let everyone in circulation know exactly how you feel, and put you in a drawing for the free meals.
That’s Amore
The Capawock Theater’s opera series is back, and is bringing Verdi’s fantastic romance La Traviata to Vineyard Haven February 17th. Tickets would make a great Valentine’s Day gift, and it’s certainly more reasonable than seeing the show on the stage of La Scala in Milan where the performance was recorded.
Dance of Love
Salsa and swing on a Sunday night makes a great Valentine’s Day promise for anyone who has trouble remembering to buy gifts. The Nathan Mayhew Seminar House in Vineyard Haven hosts ballroom dancing and more every Sunday for all levels every Sunday for only a $3 donation. Cha-cha-ching.
