Bunches of Holiday Cheer

Eggnog at Bunch of Grapes

Ruth Stiller served up eggnog with or without additional Holiday cheer at the Bunch of Grapes.

'Twas just days before Christmas... and for those last minute shoppers, the Bunch of Grapes amped up the Holiday spirit with a couple of events and complimentary goodies for shoppers.

All weekend the landmark Vineyard Haven bookstore offered shoppers eggnog - spiked or not - and crackers spread with their traditional cheese ball - a delicious concoction of a bunch of different cheeses and herbs.

On Friday night, another BOG tradition played out as carollers assembled upstairs, then took to the streets to spread Christmas cheer. Only a handful of merrymakers showed up this year but passersby enjoyed the Christmas classics and the carollers were treated to hot chocolate afterward.

Two days of book signings by local authors completed the weekend's festivities. On Saturday Dillon Bustin and Susan Foltz performed and read from the kid's book/CD Thirty Dirty Sailors, followed by signings by Phyllis Meras, Ray Ellis, Susan Whiting, Peter Simon and Barbara Pesch. On Sunday Alison Shaw, Kate Feiffer and others took pen in hand to personalize Vineyard gifts for shoppers.
