From the Teen Center in Cottager's Corner, Oak Bluffs, Plum got the update on the new YMCA - which is slated for groundclearing this Spring. John Clese interviewed husband and wife architects Kenneth MacLean and Stephanie Mashek, who spoke about the various amenities and the layout of the building, and the energy saving aspects of construction that may make the Y eligible for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating.
Then Tina Miller sat down with Donald Langely and Tony Lombardi from the Y's Teen Center to discuss the current programs, their outreach and what fun and exciting new things we can expect when the Teen Center moves to a much larger space in the new Y.
Ocean Park Realty's Alan Schweikert talked about a slight rise in nationwide real estate sales and gave his opinion on a recent article in the New York Times about the MV market.
We also showed a video clip from Nantucket Plum about the Brant Point Coast Guard.
