The Featherstone Center for the Arts was the setting for this week's show, where a new exhibit of three island artists brightened up the set. The arts are alive and well and thriving at the lovely arts campus in Oak Bluffs. Featherstone director, Francine Kelly spoke to John and Guinevere about the current show, entitled Triple Intersection, the many winter programs - featuring something for everyone (even Guineverere!) and the upcoming Spring Break Camp for kids hosted by a number of island organizations including Featherstone, the Museum, Felix Neck and more.
Artist Jack Greene, whose work is part of the gallery's current show, joined Francine to talk about his sculpture and watercolors and explain his unique process. Then Guinevere spoke to Richard Paradise, founder and director of the MV Film Society about the upcoming February films. He brought along a clip from American Blackout, a film the society is copresenting with the island's NAACP in honor of Black History Month. The documentary deals with voter disenfranchisement.
There is also a clip from MVY's Big Chili Contest and Valentine's Day gift suggestions in a new segment of Where'd You Get That?
